Constitution change that was one suggestion from Bucky Cunningham & co.:
The Term for elected Board member be changed from 2 years to 3 years.
This was voted on and passed - so the next election 2019 the Board members will be elected a term of 3 years.
One delightful lady mentioned in “other
Business” When are we going to .get rid of the hideous Rooster emblem !!
Remarking it doesn’t show a feared stance like other clubs emblems !
Greg mentioned about the coming election and the prospect of change to Pokies in this state, and the effect it will have on us and other SANFL clubs.
He mentioned that spending is going to be put on hold until the outcome & effect of Pokies change or not !

What was the reply to the logo question?
It should never gave been changed or at least put to members beforehand and not a sudden announcement.
I remember an AGM ages ago when a slightly odd bloke got up and questioned it and legitimately other things & he was duly ignored.
I think it was ths same AGM Bohdan suddenly closed, as was getting a bit of a fired up crowd.

Thanks RobRooster - interesting to read this.

A quick question - does anyone recall whether the correspondence from the club informing members of the time and date of the AGM included a reference to this proposed vote to change the constitution?

Well I can speak for myself and a few mates and the AGM was well informed of time and date, but the proposed constitution change notification is a worry !
Question asked by Barry Dolman at AGM was advising members of constitution change and when was this ?
Answer from Wayne Jeffries was advertised in the Advertiser and on the web site in required time before the AGM.
Wasn’t happy about that as everyone there had to vote on without much thought ! Although I tested the vote by sAying NO in principal about not having enough notice. I thought with email in most instances this would have been the best for them to advise constitution change @ the AGM !
Degree of change being bad or good - minimal impact.
The change is probably correct in my mind !

No particular answer - just an acknowledgment and noted her comment in “other business”.
Look if members or non members (need to be members) want changes the AGM is one place to voice change or strong comment ! If you don’t attend you need a partition or enough voice to the club to change. AND please don’t leave it to small majority. Strong voice is what makes some clubs stronger I.e Sturt over previous years (bastards) !

Thanks RobRooster. Apparently the notice of the constitution change was done within the 14 day time-frame prior to the AGM and included in the AGM notice:

A notice of change to the Constitution of the Club will be presented to the Members at the AGM with regards to increasing the term of an elected Board Member from a two (2) year term to a three (3) year term.

Another question, RR: did the board, in proposing the motion for change, articulate the reasons why it should be changed? It seems like this wasn't the case, and it would be daft to simply ask for the members' vote without providing a detailed explanation and justification first. If so, hopefully they didn't hide behind the 'report from late last year has to be kept confidential' excuse.

Yes there was a reason for constitution change in reference to Cunningham & co. Review report that to become a more stable board and also pull in line with most Boards that have 3 year terms now. It made sense in most eyes to vote for the change, but many didn’t feel notification was clear enough and missed by many in the AGM notice.
